Main features
The Garmin Forerunner 245 Music is an excellent fitness tracker for runners looking to improve their performance. With onboard music storage, you can also upload up to 500 songs and pair the watch with Bluetooth headphones for comfortable, phone-free workouts.
Design
The Forerunner 245 comes in a 42mm case size, which looks good on wrists of all sizes. At 1.35 ounces, it's super lightweight and comfortable to wear during workouts or to bed.
Compatibility
The watch connects to your Android or iPhone via Bluetooth and the Garmin Connect app, which handles syncing data, updates, smart notifications and other bits. The separate Garmin Connect IQ app handles installing apps, including watch faces, widgets and music services.
Interface
As for the display, screen resolution is 240x240, adding a welcome touch of sharpness and good detail. The 1.2-inch screen is a good size too - being big enough to feed you the data you need without overloading you with information.
Battery
The battery life is impressive for such a slight watch at 24 hours of GPS, though using music and GPS cuts this down to six hours.
If you get the basic 245 without music then you can rely on it for seven to ten days of battery life even with frequent training.
